You've become more confident yet honest with yourself and that alone will be highly appreciated and admired by anyone (anyone without too strong of prejudice), I find the short conversations we have to be more interesting than it was before and I appreciate your endeavor. It seems like your new friend from just around the neighborhood is a real "bosom friend"(a good friend). It must have been a delicious and fun experience to help out with the Valentine gift, and a very yummy tasting one too!
